Vinyl Car Wrapping

How long does it take to vinyl wrap a vehicle in Miami and how much does a car wrap cost?

The average turn-around time for a full-color wrap installation is from 3–7 business days, but there are a lot of variables that can affect the entire installation process. The variables can be:

  • Size of the vehicle (2-door coupe, 4-door sedan, SUV)
  • The contrast between the original color of the vehicle and the film selected
  • Example: A white car requesting a black wrap will require more attention
  • The complexity of the car
  • Example: Cars have different bumpers and may have wings, body kits, antennas, unique door handles, badges, air vents, etc
  • Level of installation and disassembling
  • The number of installers working at the same time
“It takes 6 months to build a Rolls Royce and 13 hours to build a Toyota.” As a point of reference, a full-color change vehicle wrap cost can range from $2,500 to $4,000 in Miami at a professional and experienced car wrap shop. You may find shops that offer lower prices but we encourage you to do your research and visit shops in person before dropping off your valuable vehicle and trusting anyone based on a cheaper price.

How long does a vehicle wrap last in Miami?

The average expected vehicle wrap life span is from 2 to 5 years. Materials are getting more and more durable every year, but here is an average life span of a daily driver, from our experience with a garage-kept vehicle:
Gloss wraps: 3–5 years
Satin and matte wraps: 2–3 years It all depends on where the vehicle is parked and the level of care the owner is giving to their vehicle. Miami is tough on cars with elements such as the heat of the sun, UV rays, rain, tree sap, bird droppings, moisture, and saltwater. A vehicle wrap is like a second skin added to your car but it does not mean you have to neglect it. It must be cleaned regularly. We recommend a quick detailer. Just remember, a vehicle wrap is not a permanent solution.

My vehicle is a lease, can it be wrapped?

Of course! This is the beauty of a vehicle wrap. It can be removed before returning it to the dealer; something you cannot do with a custom paint job. It’s not a permanent finish and it will protect your paint finish until it is removed.

Do I need to prep my vehicle before installation?

We would greatly appreciate it if your vehicle is not covered in excessive dirt or debris. The prep step is the most crucial to delivering the best and long-lasting installation. Preparation can take up to several hours for a perfectly clean vehicle so our work environment needs to be dust- and dirt-free to begin with. Please give your vehicle a simple wash, no wax necessary, either on the day or the day before dropping it off. Dirty vehicles will be charged an additional cleaning fee.

Is disassembling recommended to achieve perfection?

Yes. We strive to make each installation as perfect as possible. This is the reason why disassembling is needed in most installations to compare it to the level of a professional paint job. Black paint finish cars require the least amount of disassembling and are faster to install.

What if my car wrap is damaged in an accident?

We recommend you reach out to your insurance to add your wrap to your policy. They will replace the wrap in the case of an accident.

Why are your prices higher than other shops I have called?

We truly believe that you get what you pay for. Our company does not price match nor are we affected by companies that charge less. We work in a low-volume environment and are always aiming for exceptional quality, not quantity. We focus on providing the highest degree of installation excellence and our pricing structure reflects this. Our prices take into account shop expenses such as insurance, professional licenses, and certifications; be wary of other "installers" who might not have these. Our shop is monitored 24/7 by cameras and we can work in the best environment possible suited to vehicle wrap installation. We have a proven track record with hundreds of full wraps since 2011. First Class Autosports is one of the leading shops in Miami for professionally installed color change car wraps.

Can a vinyl car wrap be washed?

Yes. The car wrap vinyl film is meant to be washed and normal car care is recommended.

  • Use hand wash and brushless car washes as much as you can.
  • Inform your carwash that your car has a car wrap to avoid any incidents.
  • AVOID pressure cleaners at all times

Can a vinyl car wrap be waxed?

We do not recommend it unless they are experts using professional car care products. First Class Autosports carries professional car care products specifically designed for vehicle wrap care and would be delighted to offer this service. Tip: We highly recommend always carrying a quick detailer to immediately remove bird droppings and tree saps that will damage the vinyl and the paint if not removed immediately. There is no warranty coverage for these.

Can ceramic coating be applied to a vinyl car wrap?

Towards the end of 2017, Ceramic Pro coating protection for vinyl was introduced and we are extremely happy with the results. It makes the vinyl easier to clean and protects it more from UV rays and aging, offering more longevity. First Class Autosports is certified as a Ceramic Pro installer.

Is Ceramic Pro an alternative to Wax?

Yes. Once Ceramic Pro is applied you will never need to wax again. Cleaning your vehicle’s paint is as easy to maintain as your glass windshield. No need for abrasive washes or any waxes or sealants.

Will Ceramic Pro protect my paint from light scratches?

Yes. After Ceramic Pro coating cures it becomes 3 times harder than paint. The coating is much more resistant to scratching. Ceramic Pro is a glass coating, and while glass can still be scratched and chipped, it is much more resistant than your clear coat.

Will Ceramic Pro prevent watermarks?

No. Ceramic Pro will not prevent water spots but it will allow those pesky water spots to be easily removed without damaging the surface. Because Ceramic Pro creates a protective layer over the substrate, it does not allow the minerals to corrode or etch the surface that Ceramic Pro is protecting. As a result, it prolongs the life of your metals, paints, gelcoat, plastics, vinyl, etc. Ceramic Pro is a silica-based glass product, so the glass on your windshield can still get water spots, but it is much more resistant to water spots than your clear coat.

Will Ceramic Pro protect from rock chips?

Ceramic Pro is a silica-based product, meaning it is a “glass” coating. Ceramic Pro adds some rock chip resistance, but it can still get rock chips from larger stones and high speeds. The glass windshield on your vehicle will still get rock chips, just much less often than your clear coat.

How long does ceramic pro last?

The Ceramic Pro Gold package has a lifetime warranty and is verified through CARFAX®. That’s longer than any wax or sealant on the market! Although proper maintenance is key.

Can Ceramic Pro be easily removed?

No. Ceramic Pro cannot be washed away like a wax or sealant giving it long-lasting results. You must use abrasion (wet sand, compound, polish) to remove Ceramic Pro.

Can Ceramic Pro be applied by a dealership, a detailer, or a service center that is not certified?

No. Any detailer, dealership, or a service center that claims to apply Ceramic Pro without becoming a Certified Installer and listed on their webpage is making a false claim. Please report this shop to Ceramic Pro's Support Team: or +1 (800) 280–6856).

What is the application process and how long does it take?

The application process of Ceramic Pro will take between 1–5 days depending on the condition of your paint, the size of the vehicle, and the package you select. The first step is to wash and prep the vehicle. The second step is to correct all the imperfections in the paint such as swirls and scratches. Once the vehicle is properly prepped, a body shop safe prep solvent will be applied to the entire vehicle to get to bare paint. At this stage, the coating process will begin, and each panel of the vehicle will have Ceramic Pro applied, leveled, and stacked to achieve the level of protection from the package you have selected.

How do I maintain my Ceramic Pro coated vehicle?

That’s the great thing about Ceramic Pro Products. Water and a mild soap or dish soap will do the trick. Goodbye harsh chemicals, clay bars, etc. Even glass cleaner or a no-rinse lubricant/wash will work to quickly and easily maintain your coating.

Does Ceramic Pro require yearly maintenance?

Yes. To maintain your warranty, you need to attend an annual service. This is to ensure that Ceramic Pro performs properly for the entire length of the warranty. If an annual inspection is missed, the warranty defaults to the lesser package at the time of the missed annual inspection. For example, a lifetime warranty from a Ceramic Pro Gold package defaults to a 5-year warranty from a Ceramic Pro Silver package when an annual service is missed.

I just had my vehicle coated, how long should I wait for my first car wash?

You should wait 10–14 days before the first wash to allow the solvents to outgas and the coating to fully cure. If you notice that your car gets water spots, bird droppings, tree sap, etc during these two weeks immediately remove it following our care instructions. Keep in mind the coating is softer so work on the paint very gently.
